Policy and Research Mission
Mission: Advance the profession of the CHWs in MN through research, policy and education.
Objectives:
- Policy and Practice
- Promote the CHWs role into medical home model
- Establishing contracting system for CHWs and nonprofits.
- Identify barriers facing FQHCs regarding Medicaid reimbursement for CHW and establish a strategy around changing this policy
- Promote private payers to reimburse CHWs
2. Research and Information
- Establish a consistent method of gathering and sharing data-collectively; identify categories of data to gather/share.
- Compile a “White paper” which would describe best practices – assess and determine gaps.
- Synthesize info for intended audiences
- Use evidence-based and field-based research to influence and develop policy.
- Post research on CHW web page.
3. Relationship Building
- Foster relationships with policy makers.
